Myjava Secondary Technical
School has been cooperating with over 20 companies from the districts of
Myjava, Senica, Nové Mesto nad Váhom and Piešťany.
Slovarm, a. s. is also among the companies for which the school
trains new professionals. "Our cooperation with Slovarm has a long
tradition. It is one of the companies which are aware of the importance of
educating young people in technical professions and which support our school
accordingly. We are pleased that the certificate award ceremony was also
attended by Peter Špak, member of the Board of Directors of
Energy Group, and Martin Jelínek, Economic Director at Slovarm. They
awarded vouchers for the purchase of electrical equipment to the best
students", said Mr Foltín in appreciation of the cooperation with
Energy Group and Slovarm.
Students receive vocational training in companies, they have
concluded contracts in the system of dual education, they go to companies on
professional excursions, and employees of these companies give professional
lectures at Myjava Secondary Technical School. Students get acquainted with the
operation and functioning of companies and many of them will find a job there
after completion of their studies.
Peter Špak, member of the Board of
Directors of Energy Group which also includes Slovarm, commented on the
cooperation with the school: "Cooperation and support of the surrounding
community is important for all Energy Group companies. We are happy to be
able to support not only schools, but also culture, sports and pensioners. We
believe that such support will help the long-term prosperity of the regions in
which we are active. Myjava Secondary Technical School prepares young people who
will be an asset to the community, but also to us if they decide to work for
us. Every company is built on people and we believe that by supporting the
school we can get the best people. That is why we also support the school
materially, students learn on our products, which are standard in many areas in
Slovakia and abroad. This relationship also works the other way around, as many
of our employees are trained at the school in various training courses focused
on computer skills or languages. We believe that this also shows our confidence
in the quality of teaching at this school and we hope that this mutually
beneficial relationship will continue."
In the 2024/2024 academic year,
first year students at Myjava Secondary Technical School will be able to choose
from six fields of study. These traditionally include the fields of
mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, logistics, mechanic
adjuster and technical lyceum. After some time, first year students will also
study in the field of mechanical engineering, in which neighbouring companies
have shown interest.
"We want to continue the
reconstruction and modernisation of the school. During the holidays, we plan to
modernise the kitchen in the hostel and build a state-of-the-art classroom for
teaching English, German, Russian and Spanish. We would also like to give the corridors and entrance
lobby a new look. We believe that the excellent cooperation with our founder –
the Self-Governing Region of Trenčín – will continue, thanks to which we should
not lack funding for the reconstruction of these premises", added Mr Foltín,
the school's headmaster.
